Zoo with the Gibbins

We had a lovely visit to the Zoo this morning. It was nice at first and then it got really hot and sticky. It was an adventure to keep an eye on 4 boys and 1 baby girl. It was nice to have 2 sets of eye to help with all the kids. Lauren and I did learn that Lachlan and Liam are not into riding in the stroller at the zoo. Since we did not learn about this until after we were in the zoo and past the first animals, we had one double stroller and a single stroller. It made for more of an adventure. The boys really enjoyed all the time running and playing.  The boys were great. I only had to remind Liam not to go under the ropes once. Thankfully there was an other fence before they got to the Okapi. All this running around made for a great nap. The hippos are a favorite so we stopped at 930am to have our snack wait for the hippos to enter the exhibit. Thankfully the hippo area is air conditioned. It made for a great relief. Poppy was truly happy to have a nice cool place to rest. After our hippo time, we made way to the zoo beach. Liam and Lachlan we not great fans of the rocky beach. Jonas and Reef loved the water. It was a great day!

Naked

Some times you just have to be naked! Liam wanted to play in the pool and I thought this would be a good time to air out a bit!

Wetting the slide to go down it!

He thought it was great to dump water on his head!

Date Night

One night while my parents were here, Chris and I went our with some dear friends. I am not one for late nights out. As most of you know I am a very cheap date when it comes to drinks. One and I am done! I had 3 that night! Yep... I was a bit tipsy! Well I soon learned an other reason why I don't drink......... Liam gets up early no matter what time I go to bed! We had a wonderful time playing darts and talking. It was great to see Chris and April. Chris' childhood best friend, Chris is deploying soon and it was his birthday. We loved being invited to the celebration! The next morning was a little rough since Liam was up at 630am and I did not get to bed until after 1am! It made for a long day. Nap time could not come soon enough for me and Chris! It was all worth it to spend time with our great friends!

Chris and Chris celebrating! Chris thinks it is so funny to look away from the camera! Boy does that annoy me some times.

Chris so proud of his bullseye!

173rd Airborne Reunion

It was time for the annual 173rd reunion! I was very excited since my parents would be here. Liam was so excited to see Nanna and Da! I knew that this week might be a little rough since I would be helping my Dad with the vender tables and Liam was more of a handful than our last reunion. Our last reunion, he was 3 months old so he slept though most of it! My parents arrived the day before the start of the reunion. They stayed with Seamus for the trip. Day one was uneventful. We set up our table and reserved the tables for Frank. Frank sells all sorts of embroidery stuff and we are always next to him at the reunions. Liam was great. I did make the decision to make sure Liam stayed with his naps. He had an early morning on the first day. We received some much needed rain and he woke to the thunder. He napped while my mom and I ran some errands. Chris and Seamus were able to stop by for a visit after work. All of the retirees loved having them. There were lots of hand shakes and "welcome home" pats on the back! It was wonderful to have my parents for dinner every night! I loved it! Liam was quite the show off for them and anyone who would watch! Liam was the life of the party in our vender room! The rest of the week was very standard for us. Lots of selling and enjoying the reunion. Liam loved being able to watch his DVDs on the DVD player. His Nanna bought him a new Fireman Sam DVD that we are obsessing over. He was very well behaved. We received tons of complements on his good behavior!  It was nice to be at a reunion and still come home to my own bed! On our last night with my parents, we took them to Maggino's for dinner. Pete and Cathy watched Liam for us so we could enjoy a lovely dinner. I love their food and the service is amazing!  I miss my parents the most! I can't wait to see them again!

Our tables!

Setting up our new tables!

Liam loved watching the DVD player my parents brought!

On a side note, we won the bid for the 2013 Reunion in Las Vegas!!!! I can't wait! Vegas here we come!!!

Water, Sun and Fun!!!!

Our weather has been very hot these past few weeks. There have been many opportunities for time outside in the pool and with the water table! Pete got Liam is amazing water table and a slip-n-slide! It is amazing. Chris and Liam have been spending lots of time outside and in the water. I know we are on water restrictions but since we don't water out great, filling a baby pool should be fine. Our neighbor Troy and Chris built a gate between our two fences. It makes it so easy for us to see the Gibbins. Not that is was a long walk before. Now we just have to walk through the back doors. I love it. So do the boys!

Even Daddy loves the new slip-n-slide!

Going down the slide with daddy!

This slip-nslide is way better than the ones we had as kids! We have tons of fun playing on this with Liam. This slide is amazing! Chris had a whole set up so Liam so he did not get his feet on the grass since it was so hot! We really are enjoying it! The best part is the slide separates from the pool so we can use the pool separately!

Liam, Aidan, and Tristan playing in the pool!

The Gibbins' boys playing on the slip-n-slide! Lots of fun for them! They were great with sharing the boogie board. We only had one but they did wonderfully taking turns!

This is one of Liam's favorite things to do with the sprinkler. He loves to just stand there!

Playing with the water table. Lachlan preferred the water table over the craziness of the slip-n-slide! Poor Tristan was not into the fun that day. We later found out he had an ear infection.

Baby Poppy joined us. She was not a hugh fan of all the heat! But Pete volunteered for Poppy holding duty! They both had a great time!

We are really looking forward to some more fun in the sun this summer! To make our summer more improved, our lovely neighbors, John and Babette gave us a new grill. John had this grill and was not using it and just gave it to Chris. We are already making great use of it. Pete wants to instate BBQ Sundays or any day of the week. As long as he gets BBQ once a week! I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer will bring!

Zoo with Grandma

On Thursday, Liam, Grandma and I went to the zoo. We arrived early so we could beat the heat. However as the day wore on it didn't seem to matter. We still managed to have a great time! Liam loved all the animals and the attention from grandma. Liam had a great time. We all really enjoyed the time at the zoo. It is always a great time.

I wanted a good picture of Liam on the lions but he was not having it. This was the best I could get.

This was Liam's reaction to the flamingos

Shoes Cleaning

Liam has been obsessed with Disney Cars! So for the summer he needed some water shoes. We got him some Car shoes. He loves them. Liam wears them everywhere. He does love them. Well the other day we were getting ready to leave but he had to clean his shoes with a wipe before he would put them on. Super cute!

Downtown San Antonio

One day this week Chris and I decided to take Liam to a dinosaur exhibit downtown. We used Groupon for a discount on the tickets and they were about to expire. So we went for it. Well the exhibit was a bust. So not that great but we turned it around. With a little help from google we decided to spend the day playing at mall play area and then the park. Liam loved every minute of it. He really loved stopping at McDonald's for lunch. We all know how he loves chicken nuggets and fries! The mall play area was great! Liam ran and climbed everything. He just loves to climb. He was jumping off all the foam building and laughing. Liam did great in the stroller and the Texas heat. By the time we started the walk from the Riverwalk Mall to Hemisfair park it was 1130. So it was super hot! Liam did great playing and running! This park was unbelievable! The entire plat area was wood and had some crazy tunnels and walkways! I know we will be going back when it is not so hot or crowded.
