Dentist

Liam has been to the dentist 4 times now. Each time he gets better with opening and letting them do all the things he needs. We had a visit to look and check things out. Liam was very excited to get a new toothbrush. He did so well we scheduled our first cleaning for June. We will see how all that goes. I love that our dentist is willing to take 10 minutes out of his day to make sure Liam is comfortable in the chair. We had so many visit just to help Liam warm up to the staff and the office. He now loves them and they love him. We are excited for our next visit!

Reading TIme

There is nothing better than instilling a love of reading into a small child. Liam has a great love of reading. He loves to read before nap and bed and all times in between. Some morning he will wake and go to the sofa to read and relax. I love that he loves to read. We plan to do everything we can to continue this love.

On top of Liam love of reading, he loves to make a big pile with all the sofa cushions. Well this makes for a great reading spot.

End of the year program

Liam had his end of the year program at preschool. It was a wonderful program. Lots of singing and cuteness for all the kids. However, Liam had his own thing in mind for the program.

Liam come down from the stage crying. I did manage to convince him that standing next to Lachlan, Isaiah and Jonas would be great. It did not last long. 

This was about 2 seconds into his move to a new spot. 

And he is done. The tears and crying started. He sat with me the rest of the program until they served the after program cookies. He was just fine after a cookie or two! 

I know that there is always one but he did great. He was mostly sad that his daddy was not there. Most of the other dads were able to make it but Chris had to work. Maybe next year he will do better. 

Nerf Guns

After Seamus got Liam a Nerf hun for his birthday, we soon realized that he was unable to work the gun on his own. Chris and I finally broke down and got him one he can use on his own. He loves it. This just means that now Daddy and Liam and play "shoot" together! I think Chris is having as much fun as Liam is.

Undercontrol

So I think I might have figured out how to sneak around this photo storage thing. I am now having to upload my pictures to a third party storage place. Blogging is going to take a little more time than I thought but it is all worth it. I am hoping it all works. Please just be patient with me as I work out the kinks in the system. I promise to be up and running soon!!!

Maxed out!!!!

We will be taking a brief break from blogging while I figure out this picture thing. Apparently I have maxed out my free picture storage. Who knew?!?!?! I am kinda annoyed by this but I will move on after some red velvet ice cream.

Our new cat

We finally found the perfect cat for us. Our friend Danielle was in need of a new home for her cat, Lexy. We just so happen to be looking for a cat that was not to old and declawed. Well, Lexy is 3 years old and declawed. She is super sweet and tolerates Liam well. Liam loves her. He loves having her to chase and play hide and seek with. She is a great friend for her. I will even go as far to say Chris likes her. She sleeps at the end of Chris' feet every night. Liam wakes every morning asking for Lexy. If I need a minute to do something, I can ask him to find Lexy and Liam will happily go look for her. I love the bond they already have together. Every day before nap, Liam and I read books and Lexy joins us for some love and reading. I am so glad we have her. Lexy is the perfect addition to our family.

Sleepy Boy......

Liam is slowly growing out of the cuddling with mommy stage. I do miss it. I love cuddles from my turtle. Well the last few days he woke from his nap still tired and happily laid and cuddled with my until he was ready to wake. It made me miss how tiny he used to be and realize how big he is getting.  I know that he will always be my little turtle but he is growing so fast. I cherish the moments that I get to hold and snuggle him.

So most of you know that Liam does not venture from his handful of food he loves. Well at his 3 year check up, the doctor assured me he was fine but to continue encouraging new foods. So we started a sticker chart for Liam. If he tries 5 new food he gets to go to Chuck E Cheese or someplace special with us. Well our fist break though was with a cupcake.

Since our cupcake success, we have tried a carrot and strawberry. We are not pressuring but encouraging him to explore more options. We know this will be a process but we don't want to make it a battle. 

Like Father, Like Son

Liam loves his daddy! He wants to do everything his daddy does. It is so cute to see the bond they have with each other. I love it!

Here Liam and Chris are watching box breaks for basketball cards. They have a special bond over card collecting. Chris did it as a kid with Pete. He loves watching breaks with Liam. Liam is always happy to sit and watch with him. I love their bond! 

New Bike

So it would not be a holiday or birthday for us if I did not forget a gift. We bought Liam a new balance bike for his birthday and I forgot to give it to him. So one afternoon shortly after his birthday we put it all together and surprised him after nap. It is a little tall for him right now by about an inch. However I am sure we will grow into it ASAP. I know you are going to ask why there are no pedals. It is supposed to help him learn to balance faster and move to regular big with less time on training wheels. Our neighbors have one and Liam loves to ride it. I can't wait to watch him learn. We spend so much time outside and he  so wants to be one of the big kids that I knew he just needed a bike. I am so glad he loves it. I think he loves it even more because it says police on the side!

Liam and I made our first visit to SeaWorld the begining of May. He loved it. He was so desperate to see the dolphins. We did have to wait a bit to see them since they were not available when we first got there. We truly loved our day at SeaWorld. We are excited to go back all summer long. Thanks Mom and Dad for the season passes!!! They are going to great use!

Aunt Rea

Maria came for a visit! We were so excited to have her here to celebrate Liam's birthday. Her visit was too short. I feel this way about most of her visits. It is always nice to catch up and talk. Liam loves to play with her. On more than one occasion I was told to leave the playroom and go to the living room because Liam and Aunt Rea were playing!

We are so blessed to have Maria as Liam's Godmother. She is truly an amazing woman. I love that we have known each other since we were 5 years old! She is a sister to me and it doesn't matter were in the world we are, we both know we can always count on the other one. She has been and amazing friend and confidant to me. Now she is an amazing Aunt to my son and the one on the way. Liam loves his Aunt Rea and I love her too!!! Thanks for all you do. You are amazing! 

Cathy's graduation

We are so proud of our Cathy. She has graduated LVN school! It has been a long hard year to get through it but she pulled through. We could not be prouder of her. I know the is going to change lives as a nurse. Her compassion and understand will only help her in her career. Our family is so blessed to have her in our lives. She is a true blessing to all she meets! I am excited to see what the future holds for her!

Liam's 3rd Birthday

I can hardly believe I am blogging about Liam's 3rd birthday. It seems like yesterday this guy was a baby. He grows and learns more and more each day. He was so very excited for his birthday. He kept telling everyone he was going to be "big enough" in April. I just love him so much. This year his birthday and party fell on the same day. 

                                      

The morning of Liam's birthday. We started the morning with fruit snacks and a cookie! What is not to love about birthday mornings!!!

 Liam loved this bag that Tyler made for him. Tina was by the night before to give him her present because she was unable to attend the party. Her daughter Tyler made this picture of Lightning McQueen for Liam. She has such talent!   

After his nap it was PARTY time!!!! We planned a BBQ with some friends and water fun. Liam was super excited until his friends showed up. He then got a little shy. He can get overwhelmed easily. Don't worry we perked up once the water guns came out!

This is the Nerf gun Seamus has been dying to get Liam since his first birthday. We finally caved and let him get one. Now the gun is as big as he is and he can barely hold it but Seamus is super excited to teach him how to use it.
